Preparation: CT

No preparation is needed for the following studies: Brain – non-contrast Skeletal Sinus The following studies require the preparation listed below: Brain with contrast Chest Neck Abdomen Aorta Pelvis Soft tissue masses

Preparation: No solid foods for four hours prior to scan. Clear, non-carbonated liquids, such as Jell-O, tea, broth, or apple juice can be consumed as desired, up to one hour before the scan. Medications can be taken as required, with the exception of no food. If you are diabetic and are taking the medication Glucophage® or Glucovance®, you must be off this medication for 48 hours following the spiral CT studies. Your doctor may recommend bloodwork prior to taking the medications again.
